Neo 2 Firmware 0.0.15 Rollback

Firmware Issues

Tacx has released firmware version 0.0.18 to resolve an issue with cadence and Zwift. However, the firmware does not fix the problem for all users, and unfortunately may cause cadence problems in other applications.

Currently, firmware version 0.0.19 is in beta, and Tacx recommends updating to this version (though we have reports from the field that this version has also not resolved the issues).

If you would prefer to roll back to firmware version 0.0.15 instead, we have you covered. Feel free to download it here:

Steps To Roll Back Tacx Neo 2 Firmware

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Take a moment to read our Firmware Update rules, located here. Failure to follow these rules may leave your Neo 2 in an unusable state.

For iOS:
  1. Click on the file link above. You should be prompted to download the file.
  2. Tap the “Download” link.
  3. When the file has completed downloading, the link text should convert to “Open in…”
  4. Tap the “Open in…” link, and swipe through the options until you see the “Copy to Tacx utility” icon.
  5. Tap the “Copy to Tacx utility” icon, and the Tacx Utility App will open with the firmware version preloaded.
  6. Connect to your Neo 2 by tapping either the Bluetooth icon, or the circle to the right of your Neo.
  7. Tap the menu icon at the top left of your screen, and choose the Update option.
  8. The display should read that there is new firmware available for your device, showing both the current version, and the version you will replace it with if you continue.
  9. Tap the Update button, and follow the prompts.
For Android
  1. Click on the file link above. You should be prompted to download the file.
  2. Tap the “Download” link.
  3. When the file has completed downloading, you may see an option to open it. However, we have had reports that this does not work for all users. If you cannot open the file, open your email on your mobile device, and email the downloaded file to yourself as an attachment. Then, open the file directly from your email. This is due to a flaw in the Android “Files” app on some Android devices.
  4. Tap the file name (not the download option), and the Tacx Utility App will open with the firmware version preloaded.
  5. Connect to your Neo 2 by tapping either the Bluetooth icon, or the circle to the right of your Neo.
  6. Tap the menu icon at the top left of your screen, and choose the Update option.
  7. The display should read that there is new firmware available for your device, showing both the current version, and the version you will replace it with if you continue.
  8. Tap the Update button, and follow the prompts.

  1. When I click on the download link on my iPhoneX (IoS 13.3.1) a zip file is saved to my download folder but the link text does not change. I cannot see any way for the Tacx utility app to browse into this folder and get the requisite file

    1. Are you using Chrome browser?
Maybe email it to yourself then. Works fine on our version of ios 13.3.1, so not sure if it is an issue with your device.
